11am-12.30pm Zarafa (PG) – Animated adventure about a boy who, having escaped from a slave trader, befriends an orphan giraffe and sets out on a journey from Africa to Paris.

1-2pm Discovery Film Festival – Shorts for Middle Ones  – Fresh and inventive, this collection of new short films from around the world offers something for everyone from the age of eight and up. A mix of both live action and animation, these films offer some very distinctive world views.

4-5.30pm The Adventures of Prince Achmed (PG) (with live soundtrack by Chris Davies) – Join us for a very special screening of the world’s first feature length animation. Handmade by Lotte Reiniger in 1926 the film is reinvigorated by Chris Davies’ new Composition and live performance which uses a spectacular array of musical instruments from around the world to breath new life and meaning into Reiniger’s spectacular film. **This screening is supported by Film Hub Scotland, part of the BFI’s Film Audience Network, and funded by Screen Scotland and Lottery funding from the BFI.**
